PLEASE SEE BELOW SOME ABBREVIATED VERSIONS OF OUR MOST IMPORTANT POLICIES FOR YOUR INFORMATION.
Cheekie Monkeys Policies for parents we have the following policies in place as part of our operational plan at Cheekie Monkeys Nursery. These policies exist to ensure the safe and effective running of the nursery. It is important that parents are aware of our policies and procedures and take the time to read through them. In order to facilitate this we have summarised the most pertinent policies that apply to you are parents below. For a full version of any of these and all other policies please refer to the operational plan folders situated in the reception area of the nursery.
We believe that positive partnerships with parents are an essential ingredient to the success of Cheekie Monkeys. As part of this partnership we welcome any input from parents and carers and encourage them to be equally involved in the education of their children. We promote this partnership by asking parents and carers to contribute to their own child’s ‘learning journey’ by completing and sharing observations, photographs and information as part of their child’s ‘Tapestry’ account. This is an online learning journal which nursery staff and parents contribute to. You will be given log on information when you enrol your child.
In addition to this, we invite all parents and carers to meet with their child’s key worker and discuss their child’s development at both formal parents evenings or more informal open folder evenings. We also distribute newsletters every term, and ask parents and carers to complete feedback questionnaires on an annual basis in order for us to ensure that we are meeting the needs of all the families that access the nursery.
Occasionally, we may ask parents and carers for their ideas and support during planned working weekends. This isn’t obligatory, but any help that can be given is gratefully received by the children and staff.
When your child starts Cheekie Monkeys nursery it would help them and us if you could spend some time at the nursery as a ‘Settling in’ period. We understand that all children are different and will react in different ways during their settling in period. We aim, therefore to keep the settling in period as flexible as possible. A suggested approach would be to attend the nursery together with your child on at least three occasions prior to them attending their first full session. This will give your child a chance to get used to their surroundings and a chance to join in with some of the wonderful activities on offer with you there. On the first session we recommend that you stay and play with your child and in each subsequent session, that need only be 1 hour long, you leave for an increasing length of time to allow your child to increase in independence. When you do feel happy to leave your child we will work with you to support you both. Try not to worry about your child but telephone the nursery if you are at all anxious over any matter, however small. Please note that these settling in periods will be charged on a pro-rata basis.
